Cameras attached to phones are very much the norm now. This has made it easier for people to capture special moments wherever they are. The downside to it all is the voyeuristic misuse of this feature. Recently, the media have reported a rise in a vicious activity called happy slapping. This is when someone is filmed being beaten up by a group of thugs. In some cases, the videos have been posted on the Internet for anyone to see.
We now live in an age of celebrity and notoriety. No longer do you need to have a recognised skill or talent to become famous; all you need is enough people to watch you. TV shows such as 'Big Brother', magazines like 'Heat' and websites such as 'You Tube' fuel this frenzy.
